A Day in Jennie’s World

Each day is very different for me as an entrepreneur, which I absolutely love.
My routine will also change based on the seasons and how often I am outside. This is a typical day with my nutrition coach hat on.

5:15 -5:30 am // Wake up and start sipping my water which I leave at my bed stand each night. I take my basal body temp first thing and track this each day. I brush my teeth and put my workout clothes on that are laid out the night before. I do a home workout and stretch. Workouts are a variety of strength training, bootcamp, HIIT, or cycling. Most days I link a 10-20 minute stretch with these after. Depending the weather I’ll do a one mile walk on the treadmill or outside. Then I’ll take a shower and get ready for the day.

7:30 am // I’ll start the coffee and make breakfast. I have the coffee maker all set up the night before so I just have to hit brew in the morning. I take a Thorne multivitamin and Vitamin D and continue sipping my water with a diluted shot of apple cider vinegar. The apple cider vinegar is my own hypothesis, not science backed, so don’t look at this as a magic solution. I feel like it supports my immune system and limits me getting sick. I just take 1 oz in the morning. Then I put together breakfast. I have a similar breakfast each day that keeps me content until lunch and gives me sustained energy through the morning. See the full recipe for my oatmeal bowl here.

I make my coffee with a splash of low fat milk and will either sit in the kitchen and eat or bring my breakfast into my office and look ahead at my day. Before I engage with messages I read a short one page devotional. I like Trusting God Day by Day by Joyce Meyer.

When I take this time to ground myself in the morning with movement, getting ready and consuming something positive it helps me better navigate anything that comes up throughout the day.

8am // Respond to emails, check messages from clients and check in with my clients through their lifestyle journal. I am able to continue to communicate with my clients throughout the week through their food and lifestyle journal with comments, feedback and support, which is such a great personalized benefit of 1:1 coaching together.

9am // I’ll work on content whether it’s on social media, a blog or my email newsletter. Post on my stories and do some planning.

The rest of the morning I will be on video coaching sessions with my clients and writing personalized protocols for them.

10:30am // Mid morning I get out for a walk with my dog. I’ll either listen to a training, podcast, or just walk in silence. Whatever I am needing.

12pm // I take a pause and put together a lunch bowl. I like to have a variety of foods prepared so I can put together a quick healthy lunch in a flash. The main components are typically a base of salad greens, a whole grain like quinoa, some kind of beans, a lean protein, cheese and dressing.

Then I’ll enjoy a homemade hot cocoa that consists of boiling water with unsweetened cocoa and a splash of milk. This meal I will typically sit and eat in the kitchen with no screens or distractions, as a nice intentional break.

12:30pm // I’ll be intermittently taking photos throughout the day and posting on stories. Continuing to respond to messages and prep for client sessions.

Some days I’ll have a gap in the afternoon with coaching calls in the evenings. I’ll use this time to go for a walk or do some errands.

6pm // Prepare dinner and turn it off. Clean up and set myself up for the following day. The night before I make the coffee, prepare foods I need for meals, and lay out clothes for the upcoming day. That way I can be intentional with having space in the morning for myself and not feel overwhelmed with everything I have to do and decisions I have to make.

8pm // I get ready for bed, wash my face, brush my teeth and read a fiction book in bed.

9-9:30pm // Lights out for a good night’s sleep!

One of the most impactful parts of my day, is a strong morning and evening routine. When I bookend my day starting and ending with time for myself, doing activities that support me, I am better able to show up in all areas of my life throughout the day! I am more present in my work and more productive as a whole.

Having routines that you find enjoyment around because of how they positively impact you and make you feel, helps with consistency and showing up for yourself. How this looks may be different each day. Some days I will do yoga or a walk instead of weights because that is what my body is needing. Listen to what you are needing, but carve out intentional space in your day for you!
