If you want to alleviate meal time stress and appropriately nourish your body, you do have to be thoughtful with having the resources to do this successfully.
‌
Set yourself up in every way possible to draw a straight line to success.
‌
If it’s making sure you have healthy foods available, look at all of the ways you can support yourself to follow through with this.
‌
▪️Have grocery bags in your car.
▪️Have a snack or pack a meal with you if you are out for the day, so you can go on your way home and not feel ravenous and depleted.
▪️Keep it simple - just get a few things that will support you for the next couple meals. Then regroup and go back out if you need again during the week.
▪️Just decide, the back and forth is more exhausting than just doing it.

We are wired to put greater attention towards the moments that we feel like we screwed up, or someone said something hurtful than we are towards our successes, compliments, and moments we have grown.

When we understand this about ourselves, we can just check in and really make an effort to look at these seeds of adversity with seeds of opportunity.

When you are grounded in who you are and what YOU believe in, no one can shake your peace. This resiliency will keep you steady in honring what you need despite the chaos of life.

What does this have to do with weight loss, health and wellness? Well, everything. Because if you aren’t grounded in supporting your basic needs, everything is going to feel harder and you will be constantly knocked down.

These are the tools that will keep you going.

You will have temporary defeat. Once your vision is crystal clear on what you want you will never fail, because you will never stop.

Of course, you need to rest, and give yourself grace, and have down days. But when you feel off track, don’t stop. Be relentless in the pursuit of your goals. This is the work, and this is why you are creating significant impact for yourself and those around you.

▪️30 - 40g protein at meals. To be in an anabolic state to build muscle we need adequate protein from all essential amino acids (that our bodies don’t make and we need to get through our diet). This promotes muscle protein synthesis, as well as decreases cravings, promotes fullness which makes being in a Slight calorie deficit for fat loss feel manageable.
‌
▪️Strength and resistance training. Meet yourself where you are at with this. Start with body weight if this is a new addition. Work with a trainer, or do programmed videos that guide you safely through this. Add one day a week, then two, etc.
‌
▪️Walk. This is the most simple and effective way to burn fat and keep metabolism strong. You can do this no matter where you are.
‌
▪️Quality Sleep. Going to bed and waking up at similar times keeps your body in rhythm to fall asleep and wake up easier. This is how your body recovers and restores. Adequate sleep also keeps hunger levels regulated throughout the day.
‌
These are just a few layers, and the picture of health is vast. The WHAT is great. But the why and how we implement these different areas is what I help my nutrition clients navigate for themselves. I work with women in all seasons of life, with different preferences, schedules and responsibilities.
‌
It is so important you have a plan that works for you and meets you were you are at. When you figure this out for yourself it builds tremendous confidence and you not longer are hanging onto the next diet or what the next person is telling you they did, that you should try.
‌
These skills are everlasting, and so are your results.
