The #1 Reason why you are Struggling with Sustainable Fat Loss

Sound familiar…

“I already screwed up and had 1 cookie, so I might as well have 3 more.”

“I’ve been so good on my diet, I deserve to have this.”

“I fell off the wagon this weekend, so I’ll start again Monday.”

“If I can’t do an hour of cardio, I might as well just do nothing.”

You live for cheat days but always feel physically awful after and consumed with guilt.

The all or nothing mentality identifies anything less than ‘perfect’ is viewed as failure.

Restrict → Cravings → Binge → Guilt

Rinse & Repeat

The Restrict – Binge cycle FUELS feelings of guilt, shame, & failure. This vicious cycle leads to destructive eating habits and behaviors.

I teach my clients how to break free from these chains, fit in foods they enjoy and feel their best!

Most people think that in order to see results, they have to be very restrictive with foods, feel hungry and tired all the time. This mentality is super counter productive. It’s like saying because you have one flat tire you might as well slash the other three.

How to get off the UnMerry-Go-Round —>

Include foods you enjoy on a regular basis, releasing the power over these foods.

Find the sweet spot by creating enjoyment with your meals each day

  • Add chocolate chips to your oatmeal or yogurt

  • Use real butter on veggies

  • Sprinkle cheese on eggs

  • Have a piece of bakery bread with your soup

  • Add lots of veggies to your burger

  • Enjoy a glass of wine with dinner

When you don’t feel restricted you don’t need to cheat on your diet on the weekends. Willpower will run out, and if you are expecting this to get you through the majority of your week, you will likely experience a nutritional fall out when stress is high or emotions are involved.

This middle ground can look different for everyone, depending what you schedule and family life involves. There is no ONE way to make this work.

Be ok with Good Enough at times.

Even if you have done your best to plan ahead, real life happens and things get thrown off. Rather than ditching everything and starting over when life “slows down.” Learn to navigate less than ideal, real life situations. Doing your best with what’s available. Something is always better than nothing.

Good enough, doing the best you can, with what’s available to you, over and over again, can make a HUGE difference.

If you are well rested and properly fueled, any movement is better than no movement.

If your sleep is poor and nutrition is lacking, it is not the time to crush a workout.

Every little bit counts towards feeling your best.

  • Drink more water

  • Get into bed 15 minutes earlier

  • Stretch for 10 minutes

  • Have a piece of fruit with breakfast

  • Walk for 15 minutes

  • It’s all beneficial and it all adds up!

What you do the majority of the time will lead to results. Finding enjoyment in your nutrition plan is crucial when it comes to sustainability. Find your own flow and let good enough be good enough when circumstances aren’t ideal.

Identify what your most common barriers are and have a few tools to navigate those when it happens. If you know you are hungry when you get home from work, have a list of go to snacks that you know you like, support your goals, and are easy to make.

Focus on satiety over deprivation which is much more sustainable & enjoyable! Finding the middle ground allows you to stay consistent, which is QUEEN for lasting Results.

Celebrate each success along the way no matter how small.

The more you practice this, the more effortless it becomes.
