6 Things Bringing Me Joy Right Now

Months ago happy tears were reserved for weddings, graduations, birthdays and celebrations. Now, we are appreciating the small luxuries and finding joy in shorter commutes, having dinner at a reasonable time, and waking up healthy. 

These are the LITTLEST things, but they really go such a long way in how we feel and the headspace we enter the day in.

Having chill background music helps me focus and be more creative. There are also times when quiet and stillness are a beautiful thing! One of the biggest reasons I appreciate this is because when I worked in the corporate setting, I couldn’t listen to music because of other people next to me. So I love that I can do this now whenever I want!

Diffusing Essential Oils

Ways to make our environment more relaxing and enjoyable are key right now. I love diffusing young living essential oils in my office or bedroom. Some oils are better for relaxation, some better for focus and clarity.

Reorganizing My Office
Getting rid of clutter in my office and having an organized work space makes my brain feel more organized. I moved my desk to the other side of the room and I am facing the window with lots of natural light. I’ve been shutting off my computer and putting aways papers on my desk at a certain time each time day, signaling it’s time for me to turn it off. 

Making Coffee the Night Before

We bought a nice Coffee Maker a few years ago that has a timer on it and can hold hot coffee for a few hours. I got into the habit of putting water and coffee grinds in the coffee pot the night before and setting the timer when I was leaving the house for work. I have kept this habit now working from home and this little step while I’m already in the kitchen, makes mornings one step simpler!

Walking Outside While It’s Still Quiet

There’s something about the stillness of the morning before the rest of the world is up and going that I love. Being outside and getting fresh air first thing in the morning has been feeling so good. Noticing the sky awaken and the leaves on the trees.

Laying out my Clothes the Night Before

I always put out my active wear clothes in a pile the night before, so I don’t have to search for a top or leggings in the morning when I usually have less time. I put out everything; top, leggings, sports bra, underwear, socks and even a hair tie!
