Be Grateful for the Three “You’s”

1. Non Zero Days

A zero day is when you don’t do a single thing towards your goal. You don’t have to eat vegetables with every meal and run for 30 minutes every day. You do have to promise yourself that you have a Non Zero approach.

It’s 8pm and you feel like you haven’t done anything moving you closer towards your weight loss goal?

Drink a glass of water
Write down what you’re making for meals the next day
Do 1 pushup
Go to bed early

1 is always greater than zero

Losing 20# or being highly productive doesn’t happen from in the “I’ve already failed” spiral.

It happens from a massive string of CONSISTENT Non Zero days.

2. Be Grateful for the Three “You’s”

The past you, the present you, and the future you.

Be grateful for the past you for the positive things you’ve done.

Feeling frustrated and terrible today?
STOP, take a second. Think of ONE good decision you made yesterday?
Got groceries?
Made a tuna sandwich at home instead of going through the drive through?
Made extra veggies at dinner?

THANK YOU younger me.

Do your future self a favor, just like you would for your best friend.

Tired AF and mindlessly scrolling in Facebook/Instagram?
Nope, this one’s for future me, I’m going to go out for a 10 min walk and look at everyone’s pretty Christmas lights in the neighborhood. I’m doing this for future me.

Alarm clock goes off and can’t get out of bed?
Count to 5 and get up. This one is for future me. I’m going to do 15 minutes of strength training.
THANK your old self for rocking out every, single. thing that makes you better.

You really want a snack, but know you’re just tired and need to go to bed?
Future me is going to feel so much better if I go in bed and read for 15 min.

The cycle of doing something for someone else (future you) and thanking someone for the good in your life (past you) is key to building gratitude and productivity.

3. Forgive Yourself

Being disappointed in yourself and feeling guilty only keep you in the shame spiral that is moving you farther from your goals and overall less productive.

Tried to have a non zero day and it didn’t happen? so what
“I forgive you previous self.” But TODAY is a non zero masterpiece for my future self.

“I Forgive you!” Say it out loud….
