Feel guilty after eating “off limit” foods
Feel the need to “punish yourself” after over eating
Turn to food for comfort
Are completely unaware of what your body needs or what eating healthy really even means
The idea that if you don’t lose weight quickly enough – what are you even doing
All of these are Learned Behaviors
You were not born with these view points or perspectives,
There is no genetic component
These ideas were modeled to you from your environment, what you were exposed to and what you were taught.
Think about it…
From the magazines that litter the grocery check out
To labeling on food packaging
Commercials
Recipe Titles
Fitness Programs
Social Media
As well as our parents and childhood experiences
You are TAUGHT to think this way.
This is the stuff that is blasted in our faces on a constant basis
You are never cheating or wrecking your diet.
This language is only aggravating the problem.
Diets prescribe good and bad foods
The only bad foods are the ones you are allergic to or are spoiled.
Taking control of your health on the other end does not mean eating bacon, cheese and mayonnaise for breakfast because they are “Keto approved” foods
This is the extremist thinking and will only swing you into binging on all the non approved foods.
You are literally being set up for failure on any restrictive diet because it is unrealistic to stick to for any length of time. So when you stop doing it, you go back to being careless with your nutrition. Gain the weight back, feel awful and have to start over again.
That is why the diet industry is SO lucrative. You have to keep going back on it!

To stop binge eating you have to stop dieting in response to your binge.
