The Parts of the Sum Equal the Whole

While I was vacuuming the other day, the alarm sensor started beeping and the vacuum turned off. This meant there was something blocking the air flow so the vacuum wouldn’t work. I tried taking apart the two pieces that were easy to remove and clean, but this wasn’t fixing the problem.

At this point my options were;

Sweep with the broom, and wait for my husband to get home so he could figure it out. Which is the route I did take, the last time this happened. This means the carpets wouldn’t get cleaned and I wouldn’t know how to resolve the problem if it happened again in the future.

Then my husband was out of town for a week and the same thing happened. I decided to take personal responsibility, find the owners manual and learn more about the vacuum, why this alarm was going off and how to fix the problem. Does this route take more time, energy and effort? Yes. But by taking the time to understand all the parts involved, I was able to figure out where the block was. There was a third piece that I didn’t know how to remove. Once I was able to detach the third piece, I was able to access and clean out this blocked part of the vacuum, put it back together and it worked great.

NOW, I understand the vacuum as a whole. All the parts matter in the machine functioning well. I felt so good to have figured out how to do this myself, and now if this happens again, I am able to resolve the problem faster and more confidently. I don’t need to wait to vacuum or rely on something else to figure it out.

All vacuums are similar in their function, but each mechanic system is different and has different ways to clean and remove the parts. There are different ways the filters detach and need to be cleaned.

If you have been dieting for most of your life, you may feel like you need  someone else to tell you how to eat or exactly what to do. And while it is important to have a guide and framework around how your body works and why it needs certain nutrients. It is just as important that you embody the habits, behaviors  and attunement to your bodies cues to work through unexpected schedule changes, life events, traveling and the limiting self talk.

Wellness is not just about what to eat. It’s about getting adequate sleep and rest, moving your body, drinking enough water, creating a rhythm to your day and planning ahead supportive food options.

Once you are able to access and understand these pieces, it all comes together and you are truly able to show up fully for your life!
