Our Bodies THRIVE with Consistency and Routine

Do you know our bodies THRIVE with consistency and routine?

As the air begins to change we start to settle back into our routines.

Think of how much better young children do when they are on a schedule and going to bed/waking at similar times each day.

Our dogs love routine too! They know what time walks are and what time they eat. When we keep this routine they are usually more well behaved too!

When we are out of routine we notice our sleep isn’t as good, our digestion can be off and our mood and energy is inconsistent.

While shifting routines and schedules is a natural part of life, there are some key things that are helpful to JUMP back into a schedule feeling your best.

Routines can and should adjust as seasons and schedule changes.

Tips to jump back into your routine

  1. Go to bed and wake up at similar times each day.

This is a common goal I work on with my nutrition coaching clients. When we sleep longer on the weekends it is SO MUCH harder to get up Monday am.

2. Eat meals at similar times during the day

This helps aid digestion and regulating hunger/satiety cues

3. Move, take walks or exercise at similar times.

Your body will look forward to this time and perform better.

4. Create a night time or morning routine that you LOOK forward to.

Taking time to transition from waking to starting your day and from working to going to sleep will help you get more out of your sleep and work schedule
