5 Steps to Change One Habit Today

  1. IDENTIFY the habit or behavior you are working towards changing

    Awareness precedes change

  2. BELIEVE this habit is not adding VALUE to your life

    If someone else is telling you to change something and you don’t believe it from the tips of your toes it won’t stick

  3. ISOLATE that one habit

    Don’t try to change 5 other things in your life at the same time, It’s overwhelming!

  4. SHIFT the script in your head 

    Write it down, look at it everyday and talk like you’ve already done it

    You have the POWER to change this

  5. Have SUPPORT through this 

    Check in with a coach or someone to support you that equally believes in you

For example, you’re in the habit of having ice cream every night at 8pm in the front of the TV.

You realize having ice cream every single night is not helping you achieve your health goals. You believe this habit is sabotaging your success.

Replace this habit with something that will benefit you.

Do something else besides watching TV in the evening to help you disassociate that habit with another. 

Make some tea and read a book you enjoy. Pick up a new hobby or something you enjoy. Color, draw, paint, take a bath. Create a new night time routine around this. 

Some days it’s going to be harder to stick with this, that’s why you have to completely change the way you talk to yourself around this habit. 

Check in with a coach or someone to support you through this. It’s easy to fall back into old habits without having someone to check in with and believe in our goals as well.
